anticlimactic to say the least
i can't stand people who state their opinions as facts. please preface everything below with "I think," or "In my opinion." i am sure that others will feel very, very different. pros: interesting world, interesting premise. pretty interesting characters, periodically good writing. cons: sorry, should have had a professional reader - and definitely should have had better production. basically a monotone; periodically mispronounced words; and a bunch of "whistled" s's. difficult to listen to. descriptions were great but dialogue was flat and a little predictable. BIG cons: nothing actually happens. it's all show and no go - obviuosly there will be a sequel, but even books intended to be trilogies or series or whatever have some kind of excitement and wrap up at the end, not just "well, things will be exciting later." i looked around to see if there were more episodes, but, nope, where it ended is where it ended. i like the idea of M City and I like the whole firms/consortium/independent thing. actually, i love M City - for something so speculative it held water very well - i can imagine something like this happening, and it's exciting. there are a bunch of story threads here with promise, but in my view it should have been either much longer or a good deal shorter.

More reviews of Andersson Dexter Investigations
I really enjoy the "Dex" series. Ms. Wehm brings a bit of the old Gum Shoe into the virtual world of the future.
