A human story
This is fascinating. Though it does spend time questioning some of the decisions made, it is less about the morality of war and apportioning blame, and more about the humanisation of the characters for me; some moral, some anchor less, some dogged, some duplicitous. There is also some touching moments in the latter stages looking at the impact the war has had on both sides. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Excellent scripting and delivery - the atmospherics are not intrusive or false-sounding at all and they’ve got just about the best range of talking heads you could possibly assemble on the subject. I was very interested in the subject matter and an admirer of the presenter, Andrew O’Hagan but found the podcast unlistenable due to the incessant, unnecessary and inane background music.
