“I’ve listened to a few episodes now and I’m not a fan at all. The first episodes I listened to were amusing but by no means insightful. Mostly these episodes consist of the hosts mocking contestants ans making mean comments about them for no good reason. They’re pretty mean spirited about it all. They talk a lot about how the show is edited and producers take liberties but don’t apply that same logic when talking about the contestants of colour. They’ve called multiple of them boring. They mocked one woman who got no air time but stuck around for a long time clearly indicating people on Paradise liked her, she just didn’t have any romantic connections. It’s frustrating that they talk about how overly and poorly edited the show can be but in situations like that assume the person of colour is boring rather than considering that the producers favour their white contestants and the show has had a long history of this. Basically I unsubscribed because I was tired of listening to two people not checking their white privilege and being mean spirited for no reason. There are many Bachelor franchise podcasts that provide a more insightful critique of the show while being funny. I’m not saying every podcast recapping the bachelor needs to take a political perspective but this one lacks that more critical element as well as being super negative. I’m not interested in having that kind of energy in my life.”
