“I’m that person who starts reading the Bible and never makes it through genesis… or I was. I am now in my 11th book of the Bible with the help of the Recap and TLC. I love having help understanding what I’ve read, reminders of what I’ve read in the past and why it supports what I’ve read that day, motivation to get through the tough spots, and a developed LOVE for knowing God better through his word. I find myself and my family (who are going through it with me) talking about what we’ve learned and God’s word in daily conversation rather than, say, the news! Or politics! Or anything else that is just so frustrating to talk about these days. I’m not perfect and I don’t get through it every day, but as TLC says, I’m just we’re I need to be, and I know I’ll keep going because I WANT to! Thank you for helping me complete a goal I’ve had for years and years! — edited months later to add that I have now finished the Bible for the first time and am going through again!! What a difference the New Testament reading made with my background knowledge of the Old Testament! I had an understanding of scripture in a way that was so much deeper and was able to put scripture into context. Keeping my focus on who God is through it all rather than what it said about me…which I still thought about.. but learning about God was the best part of this whole experience. This time through has been super cool because of my understanding of the bigger picture, and key people and events. I am catching things I didn’t see the first time and have found that getting through the beginning isn’t as “hard” as I used to believe it was. Even in Job, a book I didn’t like or understand previously, was so beautiful this time through! Just so thankful for this tool!”
