“I’ve listened to a handful of wedding planning podcasts, and this one is the best! The content is so good and I find the discussions/tips to be so REAL. Other podcasts offer generic advice - I was so frustrated after hours of listening, I didn’t learn anything I didn’t already know from reading a few wedding advice articles online. The Big Wedding Planning Podcasts really separates itself from the masses by offering:
1) TRULY practical and easily applied info on timeline creation/logistics/budgeting. They have episodes dedicated to exactly how to create certain Excel worksheets. Also, many podcasts will talk about the average wedding cost, but they are the only ones that talk through what exactly spending “average” buys you.
2) Interviews with both real couples and experts in the business (and experts not always directly thought of for weddings, like sex therapists and financial advisors!). These guest speakers bring unique experiences/advice to the podcast.
3) Insight into all kinds of current/upcoming trends and their (non-offensive) opinions on the pros and cons! The hosts Michelle and Christy do a really good job of talking through this... I love that they have opinions - whether or not I agree with them, it really helps to hear why they do or don’t recommend a certain idea.
4) Excellent pacing. What I can’t stand about many other podcasts is how slowly they talk through topics or their pace of speech... Michelle and Christy are very articulate and easy to listen to, without talking like kindergarten teachers. They’re fun and have great energy, but still technical and straightforward!
