“This is THE only wedding podcast I’ve seen that has an episode just about Second Time brides and it warmed my heart. My wedding is approaching at The Hemingway Home at Key West in April and it is larger than the first (about twice the size and twice the cost, eek!). This is something I’ve been struggling with because society tells us that second weddings should be a demure, very low key affair, as if we should be ashamed of a first marriage.
*Nobody* wants or plans to go through a divorce, especially at a young age like I did. I was young when my ex and I got engaged and I had just developed into a more mature and different person when we got divorced. Fortunately not only are my ex and I still friends, from an amicable split, but also that marriage taught me a lot about marriage and cleared my head about who I am and what I want from life. I got the same vibe from Tricia (in your Second Time Around episode) and it made me feel good about myself again.
I love that Tricia was just ‘going for it’ and was holding this amazing wedding to celebrate her new partner and new life. Her husband to be Sutton (hope I spelled that right) sounds like an incredible man, and reminds me very much of my future husband who is also a “unicorn” and never previously been married.
So thank you, thank you for doing that episode and thank you to Tricia for sharing their story. I hope to get an update on how their wedding went in the future! (Hint). (Sorry this review is so long!)”
