“Two of my kids got engaged a week apart in December 2019. Little did we know they would quickly become a Covid groom and a Covid bride. One is just now getting married and the other one has been married for 16 months. Several months ago as we ramped up the planning for my daughter’s wedding, putting Covid aside, it became clear many, if not most of the protocols that my friends and I rigidly followed as brides in the early 80s to 90s were not followed so rigidly, if all.
To support my daughter, I needed to update my wedding knowledge. I listened to several different wedding podcasts until I stumbled upon The Big Wedding podcast. I never went back to another podcast after this one. Michele and Christy generously shared their expertise in a valuable. and entertaining way and now Michele continues to evolve the podcast with terrific special guests that bring deep level of expertise in specific areas and others who share personal experiences that are valuable and entertaining too.
Quick benefits.
#1 my daughter could no longer argue I didn’t know what I was talking about when I made suggestions. This was her wedding to plan and her vision to be realized, but the devil is in the details…
#2Who knew wedding insurance was such a thing and you needed to get some liability protection. #openbar
# 3. Totally changed what was acceptable in contracts. There are a lot of creative people but may not be business focused that are doing a Flowers food etc.It was huge to understand what needed to be in the contract and we shouldn’t be in the contract. I walked away from a caterer who was probably really good, but it was a risk.
The list could go on and on. I hate taking the time to write thorough reviews if write them at all,
But I receive so much from this podcast I felt compelled to throw my hat into the ring of support. I have forwarded this to every friend I have that is supporting their kids produce so a wedding.
Thank you Michele and please tell Christy thank you for her contribution in creating this podcast too.
PS I think I will probably still be listening to the podcast after the wedding is over.”
