Reminds me of home.
As an native Atlantan transplanted to DC, I often miss the comforts of home. Chuck’s “twang,” and the stories that remind me of where I come from, brighten my days and make quarantine a little less torturous. I can’t say I miss home any less, but I feel like I’ve got a piece of it here with me. 🍑

More reviews of The Bitter Southerner Podcast
My dad introduced me to the Bitter Southerner's website about a year, year and a half ago, and I fell in love. The podcast is a beautiful extension to the work the BS does while still being it's own thing. I've adored the first two episodes and can't wait to see what comes next! 💜Read full review »

Thank you Chuck Reece and Georgia Public Broadcasting for giving voice to The Bitter Southerner. I listen and feel that I am with a trusted cultural tour guide taking me places both dear to my heart and those previously uncharted. Thank you sharing these stories.

I’m from Appalachia. I learned to hide that when my family migrated to Michigan to survive. Listening to this podcast brought me home again in a way that reminds me we don’t have to be like JD Vance in Hillbilly Elegy. Thank you for for the respite.
