“After two broken ankles in my 50’s that were accident related, I asked my doc for referral for bone density scan and was recently diagnosed with osteopenia at 58. Ugh!
I’ve exercised and eaten well my whole life, but have never enjoyed being a gym rat, and have had a history of gut health issues, and underlying stress. So I’m learning how my focus on cardio, yoga, and swimming and not absorbing nutrients as well as I could/should, may have played a role in my bone loss.
As we head into new year I’m now motivated to start a new routine that will include my bone health in addition to overall fitness. Thanks and Xo!”
