Summer of 2004 at 20: “My Place” Nelly f/ Jaheim with Troy Brownfield
Listen now
Description
The Summer of 2004 at 20 Music Video Companion series will post every Friday, featuring a discussion of a music video from a song featured in the Casey Kasem weekly top 440. Nelly attempted something interesting in 2004. Release 2 albums on the same day. Sweat and Suit represented two sides of the top flight rapper as one was more bumping dance club friendly music and the other a ballad heavy, softer mix. “My Place” was the first single from Suit and featured R&B star Jaheim. A sequel to the “Flap Your Wings” video (barely), Troy Brownfield and I get into all things Nelly here and go a little beyond just this song and video. Thank you for listening to The Summer of 2004 at 20 series! We return Monday with an all new installment!
