Spiked people can often appear like a man or woman shouting through a megaphone standing on a crate; they are often dogmatic and seem overly obsessed with Brexit. A failure to put issues in context (ie. a rather ignorant piece I read criticising the late Irish Taoiseach Liam Cosgrave - and his father) is not uncommon. On the plus side they are speaking out against the madness of identity politics and social justice warrior-ism. (Subjects which the BBC are obsessed with - which is why I a gave up on their radio stations and started listening to podcasts). A bit odd that Brendan is a Marxist (ex Marxist?), but I do agree with his views ninety per cent of the time. His first two guests were excellent choices. (He should get Delingpole on).

This is where you need to go to get intelligent conversation these days. The depth of argument, in particular, and the quality of the guests makes shows the BBC’s ‘intelligent’ output up for the pompous and self-congratulatory cant that it is. This beats it into a cocked hat!

As high quality as I’d expect - journalism needs more people like this. Mr O’Neill, I salute you!
