“Mr. Nwanevu is very confused about how America and Americans arrived at this economic destination. I grew up in the 1960’s, lived in a very middle class neighborhood ($22,000 - 39,000 homes). Fathers worked at the Ford, Buick, Chevrolet, GMC plants. Some were mechanics, some at car dealerships, some at TWA. Then the Republican Party went after the unions, sided with big corporations, salaries stagnated. Then mothers started going to work to make ends meet. I could go on much longer, your guest clearly doesn’t realize this has been a 50 year + journey for America’s middle class.”
