“As a Glee fan from the beginning, it has always held a special place in my heart even when I, like so many others, gave up on it about 2/3 into season 4. When I watched the series in its entirety for the first time in 2016, I became a reborn gleek.
While everyone was baking bread or talking daily walks, I found my quarantine hobby of unpacking my complicated feelings about the best worst show ever, Glee. Few people understand this, and the only Glee podcasters I’ve found who do get that are Aman and Matt, the incredible hosts of The Choir Room.
In each episode, they essentially dive head first into the Glee dumpster fire, and they come back with the most beautiful treasures. Because of their insightful observations and incredible analyses, I’ve gained such a greater appreciation for so many different aspects of the show that I never really paid attention to before. No episode recap feels like just a summary of what happened; Aman and Matt with the occasional guest show you how each element fits into the bigger picture and why it’s there. I have yet to find an episode that I’m disappointed by or unsatisfied with—they hit the nail on the head every. single. time.
If this is the closest thing we ever get to a documentary or book about Glee’s impact, that’s totally fine by me!”
