“The show started off as a great replacement in my daily rotation for Talkin’ Baseball. However, the 2024 season version of this pod has lost the magic.
If you want vanilla takes, neutral in the most annoying way possible breakdowns of baseball, then you’re probably at the right place.
That said, I think Trevor protects his opinions too much— he’s definitely aiming for a more national announcer career (he’s already doing some Twins announcing) and because of this, what used to be fantastic inside baseball takes have become tame, uninteresting and kind of insulting. Instead of giving us any insight he just sits on the fence to hem and haw.
Chris Rose is going to be Chris Rose, he’s got a lifetime of work to compare to and here just like all his other shows he runs it clean and has good questions. The problem is his co-host does not entertain any of the more interesting questions. Always keeping it vanilla and boring.
Still one of the better baseball pods, but it is seemingly sunsetting in quality. Much like Talkin’ Baseball, I think this pod might be on its way out in my rotation
That’s just my opinion, they have plenty of decent takes and information to provide, but it’s fewer and farther between than it used to be.
