Halloweens of the 70s and 80s
Listen now
Description
It's the CSWL 'preseason' aka Halloween! Thus our multi-gen hosts couldn't help but cover Halloween then vs. now, particularly Halloween in the decades of the 1970s and 1980s. Join us for a deep dive into the costumes, candies, habits, trends and behaviors. From cheap costumes and decor to streets swarming with kids to egging houses and spraying shaving cream to haunted houses. We discuss how fewer adults celebrated and helicoptered (or had to helicopter, as we travel back to a very different Halloween than we know today. We also discuss why Halloween may be more popular with young adults than Christmas and why Los Angeles certainly loves Halloween more.  The march to the greatest holiday of the year (Christmas - duh) is in full swing with many new episodes each week!
