The film was named deadCenter’s Best Oklahoma Feature by the Oklahoma Film Critics Circle. Hail to the Breadsticks! is a film about how Donick Cary interrogates his lifelong fandom of the Washington Redskins in the face of accusations that the name is offensive to Natives by his son, Otis. The two travel all over the United States, interviewing over 75 Native Americans, including the US Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, Pulitzer Prize finalist Tommy Orange, Graham Greene, and Oklahoma’s own Stephen Paul Judd and Sterlin Harjo(Reservation Dogs).
