Cinesmile
Bad headline I know sorry 😬 Been listening to Kathy and Dave for a couple of years now and only now getting round to Rating. Why? A bit of laziness on my part. In this new era of podcasts the Cinemile remains a highly original and transferable concept. We all do it but these guys capitalised on it. Walking home from the movies and chatting about it. It’s a great way of reviewing movies but, unless I’ve missed something, neither Dave or Kathy are journalists and so their opinion is typically a subjective one, whilst I know they would try and keep an open mind about films. I listen on morning dog walks or in the car between meetings. Their relationship is what makes this so endearing and captivating, neither afraid to disagree in the face of polarising movies. They are both very funny and their occasional trips to the flicks with their young son highly relatable as a parent myself. Thoroughly recommended listen and you’ll also find out about their links to the wider communities of empire magazine, The wire podcasts, His darker materials and beyond. if you love film, Listen and be rewarded.

More reviews of The Cinemile
Admittedly I don’t listen to this podcast very often, only because I have falling out of love with mainstream cinema. But when I see they’re covering a film I like I love to listen to they’re review. Really well structured and easy listening.

I love the concept, love the presenters! It’s such a fun podcast, it feels like listening to your mates talking about movies. Also relationship goals! This couple are amazing together, just need to find myself an Irish lady and start up my own podcast 😉
