Juneteenth With M'Kayla | 2020 Perspectives
Listen now
Description
America loves freedom, but this country was not really free until June 19th, 1865 when the last slave was emancipated in the south. Juneteenth only became a national holiday in 2021... a year after the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020. Truly 2020 was a fever dream on SO many levels. My friend M'Kayla talks about what 2020 was like for her as well as a what Juneteenth means to her.
