Those Jesus Freaks Tho
I try to give any new podcast a lot least 5 episodes. I figure it takes a few to get me tuned into the frequency it’s tuned to, if that makes sense. The acting isn’t bad inherently; I feel like they’re going for the old school “War of the Worlds” type thing; before tv radio drama was a great conduit for entertainment. And I like that idea— at least in theory. The actual acting is just too.. flagrant? I think it’d be easy to improve, and maybe the later episodes improve on it. But if it were just that I’d probably have given it a solid 3. I’m not a bible thumper. In fact I’m closer to that old lady on Ellen who called in that one time, “Well honey I love Jesus but I drink a little.” But it’s been done a thousand times: make the Christians the crazies. Or misguided. Or downright evil. And here is where a lot of people will remind me of the real evil done by Christians and how that makes it okay, or their downright comeuppance. And that’s all well n good.. or not, I don’t really think it is but I’ll understand someone’s opinion on that. But this podcast takes that angle and beats it like a dead horse. I doubt anyone’s going to read this and avoid this podcast because of it. But I just take a lot of this stuff in and this is my bit of venting about it. And now I’m done. Jesus loves you. Be ya gay, black or Hispanic, Christian or not. Just wish people would actually pay attention to what He has to say instead of ugly hearted people who claim to speak for Him.

This podcast was painful to listen to from right around minute one. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and listened to the half way point of episode 0. The acting was terrible and I don’t think they did any research for this production. Please don’t waste your time!

I've just found this series (in December, 2016) and am currently in the middle of Season 2. I came here to see what others have thought of this show. It's a credit that I'm still listening and haven't given up; it's holding my interest enough to keep listening. That said,...Read full review »

At first this podcast was very hard to follow, a lot of jumping around from different characters in different places. If You stick out the first 4 episodes it gets easier to follow and now since I realise what’s happening with all the different characters it’s making me want more.
