Compelling BUT...
I cannot stand listening to the man doing the majority of the narrating. He mumbles and rushes through words so they’re unintelligible. For instance, in episode 2, he reads the words “juvenile home” and it sounds like “June home” because it’s just so rushed and mumbled. He sounds like he’s bored out of his mind reading words typed on a paper. He’s clearly not in radio or public speaking and unfortunately this would be a much better podcast had they gotten a different narrator. I want to keep listening—the meat of the story is fascinating but I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get through it due to the terrible narrating.

More reviews of The Clearing
The subject matter is great, and the interviews are fantastic. I love the firsthand accounts and the thoroughness of the research. The narration is a little flat. Otherwise, this is a great podcast.

Pretty decent podcast. Don’t like the way the narrator seems entertained/excited when he discovers more murders and presents them to April—very shallow. Also, the music—especially the concluding theme—is horrendous.
