Here’s my offering: Many utilities offer a “green rate” plan where consumers can enroll to purchase some or all of their electricity from renewable sources. Not only does it immediately reduce a household’s carbon footprint, but enrolling also increases demand for Green Energy which encourages more investment in renewables. I’m sure there’s a statistic out there somewhere on what it would mean if 1 in 10 households enrolled in such a plan. Maybe Chad the Bird can report on that. Log in to your utility account and search for “green rate” or “renewable energy”. Contact your utility for more information or to request such a program if it’s not available in your area. We vote every day with our dollars/pesos/crypto/currency of choice. This is an easy way to make your voice heard.”
