Listen to something else
I’m a Wyoming native and have been to Laramie several times. While I don’t doubt the host hated growing up there, I do take exception to the ridiculous things she says about the town today. For example, in the third episode the host says, and I quote, “I’m back in Laramie, and just off of Grand Avenue, improbably, is a vegetarian restaurant.” Please just stop. Seriously. Laramie is a college town, so even if it’s in podunk Wyoming, yes, they will have restaurants that cater to a variety of diets. My sister was at UW from 2004-2009 and we would go to an amazing Thai restaurant whenever I would visit her. Stop leaning in to this “check out this murderous hick town where they only eat beef, everyone, yuk, yuk, yuk.” She’s trying so hard to create local color, but the portrait she’s creating is a false and poorly-written one. Don’t waste your time on this garbage.

The New York Times can’t afford to provide their reporters with decent audio equipment to conduct interviews? The story is fine but it’s hard to stay engaged when the interviewers microphone is constantly chopping in and out. Plug a mic into the laptop next time.

On episode two and don’t live too far from here. Very intriguing, but really hoping that the zoom or video conferencing with the choppiness goes away throughout the season. if that can get fixed, then I would give it four stars.
