Trailer embraces stereotypes
I’m not a current resident of Laramie or even Wyoming. I did attend the University of Wyoming in the early 2000s and spent 5 years in the town. The initial portrayal of the community using isolated/outlier narratives is very disappointing for a podcast of this caliber. Even the wrap up of the trailer using the phrase “so Laramie” embraces a narrow minded perspective. I had hoped we were better than this when showcasing a community. Yes there are isolated incidents but these stories don’t necessarily represent a community then or now. C’mon Serial, you can do better! I’m not sure I’ll even listen to the production when it’s released later this month.

From the beginning it was disjointed and I just couldn’t get interested.

The worst pod cast voice I’ve ever heard. Sounds like a dog dying while scratching a chalkboard

First, if you are comparing about the depiction of Laramie, particularly in the 80/90s, you aren’t being honest with yourself about Laramie and Wyoming in general. Interesting first episode, wish it was more than 24 minutes. Don’t care for mini episodesz
