Professional but boring and lacklustre.
Professional journalism, thoughtful narration, well paced, well edited, produced very well in many respects. However, it was quite boring and shallow. The depth of investigation was shallow insofar that it had a very narrow focus and didn’t discuss any forensics or many investigative techniques from the time of the crime. The podcast didn’t shed any new light on the case, highlight anything important about it, or present anything compelling, or even truly interesting or investigative. This could have easily been a concise readout of a case’s history and facts a la Casefile, Court Junkie. I was really expecting a great deal more from this as an investigative presentation besides ‘this guy that once got arrested didn’t do it’, and a quick ‘oh this creepy dude miiiight have done it or might not’ in the last minutes of the last episodes. It’s a shame because there’s good talent and financing attached to this podcast and it could have been very strong with a better investigative approach.

More reviews of The Coldest Case In Laramie
I wanted to like this show. After listening to the first three episodes, I found the story to be slow and uninteresting. Not a fan of all the interviews being presented with the story. Not impressed, probably won’t listen to remaining episodes.
