Turned Off by Condescension
I’ve spent a fair amount of time in Laramie; last time I was there visiting family I ate at the best vegan restaurant I’ve ever been to (shout out to Sweet Melissa). Thus I was uncomfortable with the narrator’s condescending tone toward the place in the first few sentences. Is it LA or San Francisco or NYC? No … and I’m so thankful for that. Wyoming has as many issues and contradictions as anywhere else and I expect better from a podcast with the reputation that Serial has.
