“Colin, I love ya. I love your style of interviewing, I love that you don’t try to be a fan boy, and I love how honest you are about yourself and others alike and I’ve been listening to your show everyday since 2013. All that being said… here’s what’s holding this podcast back from being a 5-Star product:
1. The breaks for commercials are too abrupt. Your producer needs to do a better job of finding spots that are more natural for breaks rather than the middle of sentences, follow up questions or deep breaths.
2. A lot of the audio is over modulated. Take it down just a bit in post-production.
3. The content feels like the same stuff I’m getting on your show. It’s a lot of the same guests and topics and I feel like if I’ve listened to one, I’ve listened to both. Make your podcast more exclusive in terms of content and guests so the listener feels like they’re getting something special and unique to what’s on The Herd. Otherwise, what’s the point?
Two of those are pretty technical things that are quick fixes. I understand there’s bound to be an overlap in guests and topics between this podcast and your daily show, but come up with a way to differentiate the two so the podcast audience you’re trying to build feels like they’re being rewarded for listening and helping it grow.”
