Description
This episode wraps up season one and offers a preview of season two. In the coming week or so we’ll be recasting the whole season with some added data, graphics and updates. Our goal was to start a conversation with season one and come up with a common language around the social determinants of health and how our neighbors are more affected than others. Let’s keep doing that. Season two is going to focus exclusively on race and equity. We’re going to tackle everything from the Confederate statues on Market and 3rd Streets to efforts to break down barriers between White and Black churches. It’s going to be a tough conversation. But it is a conversation we have to have because disasters lay bare the deep inequities of our community. We saw it after Hurricane Florence. We’re going to see it after COVID-19. Now more than ever we need to get together and start building a new system that can tackle these inequities and create a stronger community.
