Short time listener, first time reviewer.
My brother recommended the Philip Bump episode and I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s always entertaining to hear someone storm out of an interview, but that’s not what’s kept me listening. Noam approaches each guest and topic with an INTENSE level of curiosity. He’s not one to dabble in intellectual conversation, he commits. Noam will take a subject and turn it every which way, like he’s solving a rubic’s cube. Once he’s lined up the colors, he rearranges it and starts all over again. Then, he hands it over to his guest so they can mix it up. Noam is exceedingly bright, yet unafraid to admit what he doesn’t know, most likely because he wants to know! That kind of intellectual honesty and humility is a rare thing to encounter in life. It’s exciting, disarming and uncomfortable. That’s what keeps me listening.
