“This is a very Louis Theroux type exploration of sub cultures but with bbc detective skills not accepting them at face value and digging into their origins
I do differ from Gabriel in a couple of things though 1. These subcultures / alternative ways of thinking are not new , not unique to the printing press and World Wide Web eras - the founding fathers split very early on - the federalist papers by some tried to persuade others . Fast forwards to McCarthyism - which I think helped drive a wedge between people and communities . - the American dream of a single people united in baking cookies etc has long been a myth and has splintered many many times even through her short history
2. The majority of people on 6 Jan believed in the Big Lie and not Q . A small minority pumped up a peaceful majority (even if they were misguided ) . Admittedly the speeches on the day didn’t help
But I did find this plausible and fascinating and I now better understand Q even if I don’t understand why people went from it being a game to believing it - but I suppose if we all thought the same way the world would be less interesting”
