“What wonderful journalism. Gabriel Gatehouse keeps a far more open mind than you might expect from a BBC journalist covering such a on-the-face-of-it absurd movement. You get the impression that he was motivated to make the series by a rather personal sense of regret at having not seen the storming of the Capitol coming, causing him to re-examine things he now feels he was too dismissive of. This brings an element of humility and personal journey to his reporting that makes this series really stand out. Gatehouse lands some very illuminating interviews from some very evasive people - he even gets ex-spy Christopher Steele to talk to him about the Trump dossier - and at the end comes to a surprisingly deep conclusion that we would all be wise to pay attention to.”
