Why is it So Hard for Men to Go to Counseling?

Description
Today on the podcast I’m talking with Nathan Clarkson, who is an actor, best-selling author, filmmaker, mental illness struggler, and real-life friend of mine. He is also the son of Sally Clarkson, is not only a friend and mentor of mine, but we co-wrote the book, Desperate: Hope for the Mom Who Needs to Breathe. I asked Nathan to come on the show because I love how willing he is to talk about his mental illnesses, which include depression, anxiety, OCD, ODD, ADHD, and other learning disabilities, which he shares in-depth about in his memoir, Different. Today we’re going to talk about how he has seen God in his “differences”, but we’re also going to talk about something that Nathan has been thinking a lot about lately, something in fact that he’s currently writing a book on, and that is the struggle that many men have with acknowledging and facing their failures, frailty, and brokenness. Before we get into our conversation, here’s just a little bit more about Nathan: He has appeared in national commercials, TV-shows, and major feature films. He starred in the hit faith-based feature-film Confessions of a Prodigal Son which he also wrote and produced, in conjunction with his production company Lighting Dark. Nathan lives in New York City but can often be found in Los Angeles, Colorado Springs, or adventuring around the country and world speaking and sharing his passion for helping people better know their Creator and the story He has for them to tell.   LINKS: http://www.nathanclarkson.me/ https://www.facebook.com/Nathanclarkson https://www.instagram.com/nathanjclarkson/ Different: The Story of an Outside-the-Box Kid and the Mom Who Loved Him … Questions or comments?
