God’s Perfect Timing
This book was written for my family. I listened to the audiobook over the course of 2 days because I couldn’t turn it off. Our situation is VERY complicated - our dad is divorcing our mom who has stage 4 breast cancer to be with his mistress. All of this comes after growing up in what I remember as being a very Christian home so it has been very confusing for my sisters, brothers and I. I’ve been looking for a way to explain what we’ve gone through and figure out what to do next without us turning on each other and passing on the generational sins of our parents to our own children. It just all seems so unfair. But at the same time, becoming estranged from our dad and any siblings who continue hurt us like he did isn’t sitting well with me either. Hearing Sarah’s story and her words about grieving the loss of the relationship expectations was like a light bulb that gave me direction for the future, purpose for the pain and hope for a new sense of peace in accepting what is and leaving the rest up to God. Now the only thing I’m left desiring is a workbook to work through this new found wisdom and process what it means for me next. Thank you Sarah - for writing this book, for listening to God’s calling and for speaking to my heart in God’s perfect timing.

Real, Raw, Complicated, yet there is Hope. Sarah’s writing has always inspired me and made me feel like we had been friends for a long time. Now I get to hear her speak and share deep feeling stories that help me understand my own struggles and point me to the One who loves me where I am.
