Alternate Airports, Density Altitude, Bloopers with Unnecessary Bleeps

Description
Alternate Airports are required in Canada but not always in the United States when flying under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR). When are alternate airports needed in the United States, but also, is the closest legal alternate the right airport for you or for your passengers? We discuss a few different scenarios we have experienced in our flying careers. Density altitude effects all aircraft but how do we deal with density altituide in private jets? Paper charts are available to compute performance in private jets, but we will explain a much easier method we use in our day-to-day operation flying corporate aircraft. An airplane buying tip by McGill Aviation and an ATC tip on VFR flight advisories from an Air Traffic Controller will also be heard in this episode. Last of all, a few bloopers from this episode that were cut during editing and unnecessary bleeps were added. No foul language was used in the recording of this podcast!
