An incisive and enlightening series
These interviews are crucial to art and aesthetics and in interrogating why writers seek the words they do. Roxane Gay’s interview was a lighthouse for me. Gay experiments with form and image in a way which crystallises the freedom that writers need to embrace in order to stretch themselves, to create work that pushes the boundaries of social expectations. I love the way the podcasts shows the power of a good interviewer. The questions posed that guide the guests answers and beacon out at story from them really shows the strength of the team. A truly perfect example of the weight of a good story and the process of its telling.
