Natural and unnatural wonders
What I love most about this is how the love of nature that goes into it clearly applies to the real world as well as mysterious fictional critters. The result is a show that promises natural wonders everywhere if you take the time to look – from distant deep woods to fast food parking lots – even if you don’t find miniature whales or asphalt-swimming salamanders. Like classic Night Vale, but with an eerie sense of humor that I think surpasses it. It’s funny and weird, and you never quite know where it will take you.

The Cryptonaturalist podcast is like if Newt Scamander was a muggle travelling in a sentient Winnebago, broadcasting his observations of magical flora and fauna. Absurd, eerie magical realism, meditations on life and nature, with a built in poetry/short fictionmoment each episode.
