News at its most melodramatic
This podcast was okay before COVID-19, although I was frequently annoyed with the unabashed transparency with which they tore into Bernie Sanders (disclaimer: I am not and never was a Sanders supporter). You would think the Post would take care to not seem so Bezos-biased. I could also look past the way James Hohmann speaks like he’s reading the script for the first time from an iPhone. But now, the DRAMA. The dour and dramatic script of this podcast makes me feel like I’m listening to a newsreel from the 1940’s. I know the news is very very bad today, but the heavy-handed histrionics almost make current events feel less serious and less real. I’ll probably be sticking to more straight-up news podcasts from now on.

Do people at the Washington Post know if anything else happens in the world besides what Trump is doing? The “Big Idea” today 05/12/2019 involved Trump’s preferred brand of soap. Absolutely ridiculous what The Washington Post does with this podcast.
