Description
We're going to closeout our Deadpods for 2023, with this beauty from the New Years Eve run of 1989 .. this one is from December 27, 1989 at the Oakland Coliseum Arena.
This first set has some great rocking going on, as is evident from the opening 'Cold Rain and Snow' and 'Greatest Story Ever Told'. Brent supplies 'Never Trust a Woman' aka 'Good Time Blues'. then we have a fine 'Althea' before a rockin' 'Uncle>Big River'.
The crowd gets it's wish as Phil then sings 'Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues'. A fine 'Bird Song' follows before a tight 'Promised Land' closes set 1.
