246. Isoxazolines
Description
Isoxazolines are anti-parasitics that inhibit chloride channels in the nervous systems of invertebrates. This paralyzes and kills parasites by blocking the transmission of neuronal signals. Isoxazolines are more selective to fleas, ticks, and mites than to mammals, including humans, dogs and cats. Thanks to the isoxazolines... we don't see demodex as much as we used to! However, it is still a disease that can be overlooked and important to recognize and treat. But when treatment can range from nothing to an anti-parasitic... how do you approach these canine cases?Localized vs....
