Little column A, little column B.
Tom and Eric have excellent chemistry and are very easy to listen to. I persevered for a year or so with the Mandi & Suzanne episodes (both of whom I enjoy individually/when they have been guests). Unfortunately I now tend to just listen every other week. Some of the reasons for this decision: In the M&S weeks the intro is a dreadful saccharine sped up version of the ‘regular’ intro. Please change it! It makes my ears bleed. Another of the problems feels structural. Tom plays so many games (he is a full-timer); in contrast M,S and E just don’t play as many and seem less knowledgable. This is almost certainly because they are also holding down day-jobs and don’t have time to play as many as Tom. However, the effect on the podcast is noticeable. With no Tom to anchor the episode, sometimes it all feels a bit thin. Finally I find M and S just a bit too saccharine and happy. I am a grim northerner though, so that’s to be expected. Geoff Engelstein is unfailingly very interesting! All of this is clearly subjective. But then again, this is a review: what else did you expect?

Always interesting and one of the main causes of the great increase of my collection over the last few years. Weather you are new to hobby gaming or been doing it for a...Read full review »

The Dice Tower is variety-type podcast about on contemporary boardgames. Unlike old-school games such as Monopoly, Risk, and the like, these boardgames are geared towards adults, play quickly, and are focused on strategy and tactics instead of luck. The host, Tom Vasel, is the probably most...Read full review »
