No Longer for Me
At the Table should be a brand new podcast rather than carrying on under the Dice Tower podcast title. Likewise, it is not what I want from a board gaming podcast and so unsubscribed after a few episodes failed to dazzle me. Unsubscribed as well from the YouTube channel - it is far too bloated with live feeds, notifications, off topic discussions and other puff pieces. I can find comparable or better board gaming content without hosts or presenters that only pretend to be kind and considerate, that don’t support a disturbingly increasing level of toxicity in the gaming community, or annually package episodes of pre/during/post convention content pushed out each year - it is great you had a good time but I do not care and do not need to hear about all the fun you had while I have to work. It is the equivalent of someone telling you their dreams all the time; fun for them and an interminable slog for everyone else. Lastly, I find it very immoral and unethical and just plain rude for the Dice Tower to hold their yearly fundraising campaign so soon after the holidays. Most people are still recovering financially from the end of year festivities and you want to squeeze them for more money to fuel your gaming content? At the very least wait till mid to late spring to stage your kickstarter campaign. Edit: I also find they cherry pick the causes, groups and people for which they’ll advocate and/or fundraise (which is normally fine) yet they want the credit and praise of being tolerant and an ally to everyone when they are clearly not. At best their “Christian values” and ally-ship is performative or, at worst, outright charlatanism.

I was looking for podcast to cover boardgames. I tried several with mixed results. But, The Dice Tower is by far, the best one I found. I haven't played many board games recently, but this show pointed me in the right direction.Read full review »

The Dice Tower is a well made podcast, and one of my two go-to Podcasts for entertainment and news about hobby gaming. Lately, I have especially enjoyed their top ten lists detailing games from 2005, 2000, and now 1995. As someone who has only recently come into the hobby (Tabletop RPGd and...Read full review »
