No Spencer this week so Danny goes unhinged talking about the Unity Engine pricing backlash, they are kind of backtracking. The BIG news is the massive Microsoft/Xbox leaks detailing their plans for Xbox Series X, Bethesda, & perhaps most interestingly, emails from Phil Spencer talking a Nintendo and/or Valve acquisition. What this means and why we can’t take Phil’s & Xbox’s word at face value.

Spencer asks Danny for updated Starfield thoughts. Danny loves Bethesda games, but it’s not a game of the year. Lots of Apple event talk, new Apple Watch, new iPhone 15. Apple loves talking about their carbon footprint but Spencer doesn’t buy it. Generally a middling iPhone event, but Danny (and probably Spencer) will buy it.

PlayStation Cloud streaming service is currently in beta for select PS5 users, and this could make the Project Q interesting if they make that available without the need for a PS5. Danny tries to pitch Spencer on turn based combat as Baldur’s Gate 3 has taken over the gaming internet.
