“I’ve been listening to TBBBP for years now after being introduced to it by my son when he was at the peak of his Who obsession. His obsession may have waned somewhat, but the podcast remains a highlight of my week.
I’d mainly avoided Who podcasts before this one, as I’d found a lot of them to be too arch or cynical. Garry and Adam’s enthusiasm for the show is infectious, and their reviews are a joy to listen to. That’s not to say that they’re uncritical, but they approach each episode with an open mind, and look for the positives in even the most challenging of stories.
The show’s format has changed over the years, and I mourn the loss of Merch Corner and the listener reviews. I guess the analytics showed people skipped those segments, but I always found them entertaining. At least I’ve saved myself a few quid in merch following the retirement of Dalek Tat!
As I type, we’re in the middle of TBBBP’s own hiatus as the chaps go about real life away from the world of Who. Can’t wait for them to return and give us their thoughts on the 60th and RT-D2.
