Essential for the NonClinical Career Journey
In medicine there is common misconception that direct patient clinical care is the only option and avenue to success. Through residency and into my early career years I had never met or even heard of a physician leaving to pursue an alternate career with their degree. When one of my former resident colleagues had the bravery to make the transition out of clinical medicine I jumped at the chance to find out how she did it. She sent me Heather’s name and I was introduced to a world of opportunity and hope. This podcast is a direct compilation of Heather’s years of wisdom as a physician who made this transition herself many moons ago. With humor and compassion she gracefully helps you navigate the dark unknown that is a NonClinical career as a physician. She interviews a variety of knowledgeable voices from recruiters in various industries to physicians who left clinical medicine to physicians who have successfully revamped their clinical careers to find fulfillment instead of burnout. If you are a physician suffering from burnout or the sense that direct patient care isn’t the right fit for you - you have come to the right place.

You’ll learn a ton and come to realize it’s totally normal to question being a doctor and it’s okay to leave if that’s what’s best for you. Tons of resources here for deciding.
