“Thank you for this podcast! I worked field trials in high school in North Mississippi and one In Arkansas. I also grew up with about 10 coon dogs and 15-30 deer dogs. I’m training my lab pup and would love to enter him in a field trial. I enjoy and soak up the Information that y’all are giving. The come back whistle/ over shooting birds is something I have done and it works. My pup is a year old and we are lucky enough to practice on a golf course- it is the only land around us that we can do long retrieves. ( or the beach) it’s tourist season in Hilton Head, SC so the beach is too packed. I wish I could find more places with water to practice that doesn’t have gators in it. I love waterfowl hunting but the only hunting (to kill birds) are the plantations that release birds for someone to shoot. I like the work and thought process of hunting. Not be charged $25-30 per bird. I miss the Mississippi flyaway!!!!”
