A cracking shell on an outdated reputation
It is surprising and disappointing how The Economist is hosting low quality podcasts under its brand and « The Economist asks » makes no exception to this phenomenon. With this one, you experience a public school accent in case you never the chance of such delight. Additionally, you’ll witness how a 10 words question can be phrased with 50 words by a speaker (sadly clearly not a journalist) who seemingly enjoy putting herself forward and listen to herself speaking, which undermines the content. Riding on the (overrated) reputation of the publication, the podcast nevertheless manages to attract high-quality guests who use the podcast as a vector for the official message they want to deliver to the public.
