Description
Joining me on today's episode of The English Wine Diaries is Charlie Stein, the youngest of celebrity chef Rick Stein’s three sons and director at the family’s restaurant brand, where his passion lies in creating extraordinary dining experiences with excellent wine. Born in Padstow, where his mother and father opened their first restaurant in the early seventies, Charlie was immersed in food and wine from a young age and regularly joined his father on his travels across the globe. After completing his wine and spirit qualifications, Charlie worked as a marketer and purchaser at The Vintner wine merchants, before joining the family business, where his job is to personally choose every bottle of wine across the company.  He also regularly hosts wine masterclasses and appears on TV on the likes of programmes like Saturday Kitchen as well as hosting his own show Wine, Dine and Stein with one of his brothers, Jack. We talk about his love of South African wine, the vineyard's Charlie is so keen to support locally in Cornwall and which of his dad's famous friends first got him into wine. You can keep up to date with what Jack is up to by following him on Instagram @charliestein1 and fine out more about The Rick Stein Group of restaurants, including their Stein's At Home boxes and Rick Stein wine collection at rickstein.com.
