“Eric Metaxes is a very intelligent and highly educated man. He has top-notch guests on his podcast. But don’t think his skills as a writer transfer to podcasting. After listening to some of his shows, and trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, I’ve decided I won’t listen to him ever again. Eric has almost no interviewing skills whatsoever. He interrupts mid-sentence, rarely asks questions of his guests, and spends most of each podcast rambling about his opinions (which given his education are surprisingly superficial rather than nuanced and thought out). I’ve seen podcasters with much less prestige and education level do a far better job of listening to and conversing with guests. The most recent podcast with Naomi Wolf was so cringeworthy, I feel sorry for her suffering through that.”
