“I have enjoyed the interviews with expats living around the world. However, I am bothered by the periodic subtle, or not so subtle, sexist comments made by the Australian host (e.g., when interviewing a husband and wife, commenting that the wife was the one with the sexy voice; joking that he wanted to use the bank in Abu Dhabi because it requires the wife to get her husband’s permission to withdraw money). As a woman I do not find those comments funny or appropriate. It’s possible that Australians consider these kinds of comments okay, I don’t know as I’m not Australian. But it’s off-putting and interferes to some degree with my enjoyment of this podcast. I also think he could do a better job asking open-ended questions rather than asking yes/no questions and relying on the guest to elaborate.”
