Self-examination based on Scripture is critical for every Christian. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer” (Psalm 19:14). Success starts with what you think in your soul. Remember, God hears your words and knows what you are thinking. “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear” (Eph 4:29). You are to think with the mind of Christ and take on His personality profile of being merciful, gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth (Ps 86:15).
