“As a budding Francophile, I thought this podcast would provide some insight into French history and the evolution of their culture. The narration, however, was abominable. His monotonous approach to a topic that fascinates him so much takes away from the topic completely. I was turned off by his pace, his inflection, his lack of context for who the peoples are and what their significance to each other are, and his lack of enthusiasm for his own topic. Podcasts should be engaging, exciting storytelling experiences that capture your audiences attention and respects their intelligence while introducing new ideas or topics. The podcast fails to do this and, sadly, is instead a boring recitation of facts you would expect from a jaded professor holding on to his last 7 years of tenure until retirement.”
